We’re proud to share an exciting milestone in our journey! P.Happi® has been part of the Accelerating FemTech: Evaluate programme by Health Innovation Network.
And even more exciting: our founder, Dr Chiara Board, was awarded Best Pitch at the programme’s showcase.
Supporting the future of women’s health
Accelerating FemTech: Evaluate brings together some of the most promising innovators in women’s health, with a focus on building strong clinical evidence, navigating NHS pathways, and scaling impact. For us, this programme came at a pivotal moment.
As we continue to grow P.Happi® across our own channels and retail partnerships, we’re also focused on something bigger: making microbiome-first, non-antibiotic care accessible through healthcare systems.
Why this matters
Intimate health issues like UTIs, BV, and vaginal dryness affect millions of women, yet solutions have long been limited to antibiotics, hormones, or temporary fixes which can feel very isolating for a lot of women. At the same time, antibiotic resistance is rising, and healthcare systems are shifting towards prevention, community care and self-management.
Our microbiome protective serum, powered by B.Y.M.® 1405 (Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus), was developed to:
- Support the intimate microbiome
- Help protect against disruptive bacteria
- Offer a natural, non-antibiotic, non-hormonal approach
- Bring innovation into the women's health space
- Fit seamlessly into everyday routines
- Empower women with effective self-care to feel in control and confident again
Together, these features make P.Happi® an easy, everyday addition to intimate care which is designed to support the microbiome proactively, rather than reacting once discomfort arises.
From a personal story to real-world impact
P.Happi® started with a personal frustration. After years of struggling with recurrent UTIs, Dr Chiara Board saw first-hand how limited (and often repetitive) the available treatment options were and how it also impacted her personal life, relationships, activities, mental health. Wanting to take matters into her own hands, and with a PhD in synthetic biology and bioengineering from Imperial College London, Chiara spent years developing a solution from the ground up – working closely with scientists, clinicians, and women experiencing these issues.
Today, that work is translating into real impact:
- A completed Innovate UK-funded study showing strong results, with improved quality of life and high participant satisfaction
- Growing adoption across the UK and Europe
- Retail partnerships, including Boots & Pharmacy2U
- Increasing interest from clinicians and women's health specialists
These milestones mark just the beginning, as we continue to scale access, build clinical evidence, and bring better solutions to more women.
What we gained from the programme
Being part of Accelerating FemTech first in 2023 and now through the Accelerating FemTech: Evaluate programme has been instrumental in shaping P.Happi®’s journey and our next phase. Through workshops, coaching, and collaboration, we’ve been able to:
- Strengthen our clinical evaluation strategy
- Explore pathways for NHS integration and pilots
- Build relationships with primary care and specialist clinicians
- Better understand how to balance commercial growth with clinical validation
We’re now actively exploring a pilot in primary care in the East of England to help introduce more innovative women’s health solutions into the healthcare system.
At the final showcase, Chiara presented P.Happi®’s vision for the future of intimate healthcare and was awarded Best Pitch! A proud moment for our team that reflects the growing recognition of the need for more proactive, microbiome-focused solutions in women’s health.

What’s next?
We’re just getting started! Our focus is on expanding access to P.Happi® across the UK and beyond, growing the team and expand our production, deepening our clinical partnerships and research, sharing our study results at events throughout 2026, and continuing to build a strong, informed community around intimate health.
Our long-term goal is to make microbiome-friendly intimate care accessible both on the high street and through the NHS. Giving women a new option over traditional solutions, putting innovative care in their hands, strengthening community-based care, and improving quality of life and productivity.
If you’re working in women’s health and are interested in bringing microbiome-first, evidence-based solutions to more patients, we’d love to collaborate. Get in touch at hello@p-happi.com or complete our HCP form to explore partnership opportunities.
