General FAQ

P.Happi® supports with microbiome related concerns. The serum can help with intimate dryness and sensitive skin. The serum has a barrier function, creating a protective shield from bacteria who are not part of your natural flora. The bacterium in P.Happi®, Bdellovibrio bacteriovorous, specifically fights gram-negative bacteria leaving the beneficial bacteria to flourish, more here.

P.Happi® is not a medicinal product or medical device. It is not intended to prevent, cure or treat any disease.

P.Happi® cannot fix mechanical or functional related problems such as prolapse or voiding issues however the barrier function can help to shield from bacteria building and causing discomfort.

Please speak to a doctor if you have any specific concerns.

P.Happi® is for women at all life stages in particular women who have issues caused by disruption to the intimate microbiome susch as itching, dryness, odour and irritation. It is especially suitable for women with recurrent symptoms.

P.Happi® is suitable for children over the age of 3 years old.

While some users notice the effects right away it can differ from person to person.

As the microbiome is complex, the timing can vary and isn't always guaranteed but our studies have shown that users notice the difference within 3 months of consistent application.

Each 15ml bottle of P.Happi® contains enough for twice daily use for one month (60 applications).

Once opened P.Happi® should be stored in a cool, dry place and used within six months. It does not need refrigeration but can be stored in the fridge for maximum potency. Please do not freeze and keep it out of direct sunlight.

How To Use

With the bottle standing upright apply one pump to the vulva, labia and perineum area (front to back to avoid contamination). For optimal protection make part of your morning and evening routine.

When you first open and use the bottle you will need to pump a few times. This is due to the filling process. We like to avoid leaks when we're filling the bottles!

We recommend you use P.Happi® twice daily to maintain protection. You can use extra if you like during higher risk times when you are more sexually active, stressed or traveling a lot.

If convenient apply as soon as you remember. You do not need to apply it multiple times to make up for a forgotten application. Remember, P.Happi® is most effective when applied every morning and night.

No problem! Continue applying the serum even when you have your period.

Yes you can use P.Happi® together with your usual topical products. To get the best out of both we recommend to apply them at different times. We recommend a minimum of two hours apart but it depends on the absorption profile of the specific product. When in doubt, please send an email or ask your healthcare professional.

Manufacturing & Safety

P.Happi® is vegetarian friendly!

P.Happi® is fragrance free! We haven't added a fragrance to the serum to avoid any irritation this may cause and keep the product as natural as possible. Some users have noticed an earthy scent. This comes from the natural ingredient B.Y.M.® 1405 but this fades after application.

Yes P.Happi® has been tested and certified as suitable for sensitive skin by a 3rd party.

We use silicones in our product to create the stability and consistency of the serum that you love! Silicones have been proven to be safe for use in care products for decades.

They are non toxic and the absence of bioactivity make silicones a suitable and safe solution to administer our bacterium.

We also found that silicones are less likely to stain underwear which is something we thought important as we want you to be able to go about your day without any additional worries.

There isn’t currently an alternative that we can use in place of silicones that will provide the same level of functionality, quality and safety we want. We will however continue to research and develop our products ensuring the quality of our ingredients. Please consult a doctor if you have a specific allergy to silicones.

P.Happi® is water free and is proven to be microbiome friendly hence it does not negatively impact lactobacilli which is important for your intimate Ph.

Yes. Our organism, B.Y.M.® 1405 is a natural strain and so is GMO free.

P.Happi® is manufactured in the UK and stored and shipped via our logistics partner in the South East.

Yes it is. P.Happi® is not tested on animals.

We carry out lots of studies in our own lab, third party labs and in partnership with research charities such as Live UTI Free.

P.Happi® is dermatology tested including tested on sensitive skin. We have conducted clinical tests and ongoing microbiome studies with women suffering from recurring issues. These are externally verified by a third party.

Menopause

P.Happi® is considered a good product to support with menopause. It has a dual functionality that

1) helps to support the microbiome barrier with Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus and

2) moisturise and protect the intimate area from dryness and associated risks.

The serum has been tested by women in their peri- and post menopausal stage who reported a positive impact on their menopause-related symptoms. For example 94% felt a relief in intimate dryness.

Yes you can! P.Happi® is a non-hormonal serum meaning you are able to use it together with hormone based treatments and can be a great addition.

During testing women have reported that they felt more confident in the bedroom whilst using P.Happi® with 94% reporting intimate dryness relief and a significant impact on sexual wellbeing whilst using the serum.

We have many stories mentioning the impact P.Happi® has had on customers' sex life here.

P.Happi® cannot fix mechanical or functional related problems such as prolapse or voiding. The barrier function can support bacteria related problems stemming from the microbiome that may have been caused by something such as prolapse.

It may be beneficial to use the serum in particular if you are using pessaries to help with any build up of biofilms that can disrupt the microbiome.

Trying To Conceive or Pregnant

P.Happi® has not been specifically tested on pregnant women. While there are no indications that the product is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, we always recommend to check with your obstetrician or midwife first.

Yes you can use P.Happi® if you are trying to conceive including going through IVF. The serum is externally applied and should not impact sperm. It can also help to make things more comfortable during this time by supporting your microbiome.

It is always best to consult your clinician first.

Sex

P.Happi® isn't a lubricant and shouldn't be used as one for penetrative sex.

P.Happi® is a moisturising serum that helps protect and maintain intimate health over time.

P.Happi® doesn't contain water but also unlike water-based lubricants it:

  • Contains no preservativesand is fragrance-free → gentle on your body.

  • Lasts longer→ less reapplication, more comfort!

  • Supports your microbiome→ working with your natural biology.

When you apply the serum is entirely up to you

If you are applying the serum before sex, avoid using condoms with spermicides as these can impact the bacteria in the serum.

Applying the serum after sex may be beneficial to support with any contamination that happened during. We suggest you apply after your usual routine e.g. going for a pee or taking a shower.

Yes our formula does not contain any oils and so is considered condom safe.

P.Happi® should not be ingested and so best to avoid applying it just before. If possible leave two hours between application and oral sex.

Antibiotics

Yes, P.Happi® aims to give you the extra protection while your microbiome is suffering during antibiotic use as antibiotics can kill good defensive bacteria too. It's great for active microbiota management during and after antibiotic use to strengthen your natural defences. Note that while B.Y.M.® 1405 is a bacterium, different antibiotics can impact B.Y.M.® 1405 differently.

B.Y.M. 1405 is a live bacterium and can be affected by some antibiotics but shows good compatibility with others. Please contact the team at hello@p-happi.com to discuss specific ones.

Packaging

P.Happi® is made in the UK to avoid any extensive shipments and thus to maintain a lower carbon footprint.

Our delivery packaging is made with recycled cardboard and can be recycled in your home recycling.

Our packaging materials are compliant with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 on plastic materials. The plastic materials do not contain any substances listed in Annexes II and III of the EU Cosmetics Regulation (1223/2009).

We understand that this can be frustrating however to help keep costs as low as possible we have opted for minimal packaging that can fit through your letterbox for your convenience. This means that at times the yellow P.Happi® box can get a little damaged in transit. This should not affect the integrity of the serum.

Please let us know if the bottle is damaged by emailing hello@p-happi.com

Unfortunately, our packaging supplier has discontinued the 20ml bottle size, which left us with no choice but to move to a 15ml format.

We are a small company and now need to source the new packaging ourselves. Unfortunately, the cost to manufacture the serum hasn’t reduced in line with the smaller size — the airless pump, filling process, and materials are priced very similarly to the old 20ml version.

What does this mean?

  • The 15ml is priced at £32 or £26.99 with a subscription.

  • The smaller bottle qualifies for lower shipping costs, which we’ve passed on to customers.

  • Fresher, more frequent batches help ensure the quality of P.Happi (as it’s a live, microbiome-supporting product).
