Supporting women's health with microbiome solutions
All thanks to one little bacterium,
B.Y.M.® 1405
Found in nature, Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus (B.Y.M.® 1405), is a unique natural ingredient present in water and soil and acts as a balancer.
While its use has been explored for a range of applications, we are prioritising women’s health first.

Not the usual probiotic
Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus (B.Y.M.® 1405) is not the usual probiotic, it is a bacterium that can help to protect from nasty bacteria whilst keeping the good bacteria in your intimate area happi.

This is a new approach
Women have a much shorter urinary tract than men, and no external genitalia. This makes it much easier for bacteria, often coming from the bowel e.g. E.coli, to invade our intimate area and urinary tract (see image), disrupt the microbiome and cause problems.
P.Happi® offers a new approach, applied topically to the vulva and perineum, it creates a barrier against unwanted bacteria invading the area.
When applied, the moisture of the skin revives the microbiome-boosting bacteria and off they go protecting the intimate area.
Applied topically to the vulva and perineum
Easily absorbed. No metabolic barriers
Creates an external physical bio-barrier
Does not need to travel through whole body before reaching the target area
Fights where it matters unlike oral supplements
Dual action microbiome protecting and moisturising
Microbiome friendly
There is a rich amount of research on Bdellovibrio and its impact on the microbiome. We have also carried out our own research and studies on its impact on the intimate microbiome. P.Happi® has also been certified as officially microbiome friendly by MyMicrobiome .
See from our study
In our studies Bdellovibrio has shown no negative effect on the microbiome. We have taken swabs from women and sequenced samples before and after the application of Bdellovibrio.
Years of published research
Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus has been researched for over 60 years with a range of peer-reviewed publications published in esteemed journals.
Latest from our microbiome study
Our latest blind study of 50 women demonstrated the protection and maintenance of the intimate microbiome.

Our scientist holding up a plate containing Bdellovibrio and other bad bacteria found in the intimate microbiome to the light. The clear dots are where the Bdellovibrio have broken down the bad bacteria leaving an empty space.
B.Y.M.® 1405 offers a different approach. The serum is topically applied and the bacteria get to work breaking down the gram-negative bacteria (such as E.coli, Klebsiella etc), while it does not harm the gram-positive lactobacilli which are part of the natural beneficial flora you want to keep.
Because we believe in innovation and providing women with more choices, P.Happi® can be used alongside probiotics, potentially creating an environment where probiotics can better flourish. Probiotics, such as lactobacilli, do not actively combat harmful bacteria; they need to reach the target area, which can be challenging with oral supplements due to metabolic barriers. Once they colonize the intimate area, they produce an acidic environment (low pH), which is beneficial.
Ideally, probiotics should be used locally since not all will survive the journey. Our bacterium, Bdellovibrio , is specifically chosen for its ability to target Gram-negative bacteria and be applied directly to the area where it is needed most, such as the vulva and perineum, it offers a different approach to your usual probiotics.
Some have reported a natural, earthy smell to P.Happi®, which is normal as B.Y.M.® 1405 comes from nature itself. We don’t add any fragrance or masking agents to avoid any irritation.
Using P.Happi® with other products such as a Lactobacillus pessary or oral probiotics, is a good approach, as the Bdellovibrio can protect the balance of your intimate microbiota . Pessaries are internally applied (inside the vagina), while P.Happi® creates an external barrier. Bdellovibrio has no negative effect on Lactobacillus species. You might see a positive effect by combining both, we have tested it with Optibacs and Canesflor and found these were not inhibited by our bacterium.
Yes there is a lot of research readily accessible online! We have linked some of them here for you.
